Pool and DivingBring the kids and enjoy our excellent heated swimming pool! We provide the perfect opportunity for a good swim, whether it is for fun, fitness or serious training. Use the resistance of the water to help strengthen your body. Our pool area is a great amenity for relaxing with family and friends, taking in some rays or enjoying lunch and beverages from our snack bar.
Life guards are on duty from Pool is heated from May 1st until November 1st. Swim TeamsFriendly Hills Country Club also offers a swim and dive team for the ages of 4 to 18 during the months between May and August in the summer every year. Diving practice and stroke technique classes are from 4:00pm to 5:00pm and normal swim practice is from 5:00pm to 6:30 pm. FHCC is part of the Sunkist Swim League and competes against six other country clubs. Swim meets against other country clubs are held on Saturdays and occasionally Wednesdays. The team practices are divided up by swim level and all levels are welcome, we have experienced coaches on deck at all times during the practices to make sure the kids are receiving the proper instruction throughout the entire practice. Swim LessonsWe also offer private swim lessons to all levels and ages of both swimmers and divers daily. We work with kids as young as two years old on water safety and if they show improvement, on the basics of swimming as well. Friendly Hills UnicornsThe Friendly Hills Unicorn swim team is a strong part of the Country Club’s history. The Unicorns represent Friendly Hills in the Sunkist League which is a league that consists of six other southern California private country clubs who compete against one another every summer for the Sunkist League Championship at the end of July. Many of the country club’s young swimmers continue their aquatic careers and become very successful swimmers, divers and water polo players into their high school and college years as well. Our swim season begins with a kick-off party and bar-be-que, and ends with an awards banquet to recognize all participants in the program, and we also host our annual beach party every year in Huntington Beach. Being a part of the swim team provides many fun times and wonderful family memories throughout the entire summer. The last year the Unicorns took home the trophy was in the summer of 2006 and they are looking to capture it again soon! Swim CoachesHead Swim Coach/Pool Manager— Erin Brown Erin grew up in Tampa, Florida and was a competitive swimmer all her life. She swam and played water polo in both high school and college and is currently an assistant coach to the Whittier College Men’s Polo Team as well as La Serna Girl’s Head Water Polo Coach and is also the Head Coach for La Serna’s Co-Ed Swim team as well. She has 10+ years coaching experience and Friendly Hills Country Club considers itself lucky to have her as their Head Coach.
